Campaign
More than 70 missions across four faction campaigns, playable solo or with a friend. Each campaign opens on a CGI cinematic, then uses in-engine cutscenes and dialogue on the world map.
Some world-map choices have consequences: defend a Manufactorum Complex instead of a Hive City, and one may survive at the cost of the other.
Campaign and multiplayer are balanced separately, so a unit can be overpowered in the story and toned down online.
Last Stand, Skirmish and Crusade
Last Stand returns from Dawn of War II: survive ever deadlier waves, level up your characters and unlock skills and equipment.
Skirmish lets you set the map, factions and difficulty, against AI, alone or as a team.
Crusade is a turn-based map of Kronus: spend Action Points to move your Strike Force, fight the hard battles in real time, and keep your units' experience and wargear between fights. One Crusade takes eight to ten hours.
Multiplayer
1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 at launch. Quick Match defaults to Annihilation, and you can queue for any or all of the three win conditions.
KING Art plans to keep balancing from launch data and player feedback, and to explain the intent of each change.

- Yes. The wave-survival mode from Dawn of War II returns, with levelling, skills and equipment.

- About eight to ten hours for a typical Crusade, according to KING Art.
